Maybe there is something to this blogging

I've never understood the attraction of blogging because I never understood why people would want to read about what I do. However, as you can see, here I am writing on my own blog. I recently googled my illoominations shop and discovered that Renee Nation, a very talented felt artist. wrote about me in her blog..:) Very cool for me! Here is her blog: http://www.surprisedbyfiber.blogspot.com/ So now I am beginning to understand the blog factor and promotion. We were in a small art show at the Rochester Athletic Club here in Rochester. I was lucky enough to have a table next to hers. Her felted scarves and vessels are beautiful and unique. Even her children are into felting. I was impressed by their things in her shop as well. Check her blog out!

Hooray!

Well.. I had good news this past week! I took my weavings to a couple local galleries and was told my things could be in both of them. Unfortunately not right away but some time this year...:) I am on a waiting list to get into the SEMVA gallery. (South Eastern Minnesota Visual Arts) It usually takes about 6 months so hopefully by late summer I will be there! Just in time for the end of the Thursdays on First outdoor art shows downtown and for the holiday shopping season.
Here is their link: http://www.semva.com/

I was also accepted for the "Fabrications" show at the Crossings gallery in Zumbrota. Every December they have a fiber art show featuring regional artists. Again great timing for the holidays! Check out their link: http://www.crossingsatcarnegie.com/

Baby Blankets

Still learning how to post with pictures...:)

Baby Blankets

One of my friends is lucky enough to be having two grand babies very soon, one in March and one in April. The double shower is this weekend and I wove baby blankets on my rigid heddle loom. Here they are!

Wow...!!! I joined the Etsy Carried Away Bag Team yesterday and was featured on one of the other member's blogs today! Thank you to TiLT Creations! www.tiltcreations.blogspot.com
She featured me on her promote a sister Sunday...:)

Still learning!

Here is one of my favorite bags that I've made.

Learning how to blog

Well, I've finally gone and done it and made my own blog. I'm not sure how it all works but it seems I need to have one to further promote my weaving wares. There must be something to it because everyone has one! After a little resistance I fugured I'd better get on the bandwagon and attempt to learn how to do this. I'm kind of a computer dummy and I don't like to appear stupid! Wish me luck. Hopefully this is something that I can manage!
